Electoral Reform ToT | 15 May 2025: KwaZulu Natal (DBN) w/ Eastern Cape

The Electoral Reform Training of Trainers (ToT) forms part of the continuous Electoral Reform work of the Rivonia Circle in partnership with the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). The Electoral Reform Community Engagement toolkit is a facilitation guide for community organizers hosting local workshops on voting systems in South Africa. The toolkit helps communities to talk about why voting matters, how voting processes can be improved and to talk about what changes should and could be implemented in voting processes in South Africa. This toolkit was designed to deepen public understanding and engagement in South Africa’s electoral reform processes as part of the broader national efforts to democratize and localize debates around electoral reform, particularly in the context of the Electoral Amendment Act and its implications for participatory democracy.

Key outcomes:

    education.
  • Build a national network of trainers that can share information with their
    respective communities.
  • Support broader civil society advocacy for transparent and inclusive electoral
